WHAT WE DO
Stepping Stones Trust offers a holistic 4 phase mode for resettlement of offenders leaving prison. Our aim is to provide the framework for each person to move in to crime-free independent living. We do this through working with guys prior to release to assess all of their resettlement needs, then through supporting them once they are released in our Supported Housing Units and through mentoring. We address both their practical, emotional and spiritual needs once they are released.
Phase 1 – In Prison – All suitable applicants for Stepping Stones Trust accommodation are visited and interviewed while still in prison so that support plans can begin to be created before release.
Phase 2 – Hostel Accommodation – Hostel provision with key-working supprt together with a structured recovery programmes for a minimum of four months in a general hostel, or two years in a sex offenders’ hotels.
Phase 3 – Move On - Semi-Independent living, in a flat or house of shared occupancy with floating support and, if required, additional mentoring support.
Phase 4 - Independent Living - Fully independent, in a single flat with reducing floating support, if required, and additional mentoring support.
